Jimmy Carter Leaves Southern Baptists Citing Doctrines on Women
Former US President Jimmy Carter, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, has published a formal statement about why he has left the Southern Baptist Convention. Carter writes that his reason for leaving the church with which he has long been affiliated is its policies and doctrines that hold that females are inferior to males and must be subservient to them. Here are links to his article in the Manchester Guardian (UK) and theage.com.au As far as I can see, same article in both publications. Well worth the read!
