Layne Redmond To Receive ASWM Award
The first Brigit Award for Excellence in the Arts given by the Association for the Study of Women and Mythology will be bestowed upon Layne Redmond, frame drummer and author of When The Drummers Were Women, at ASWM's East Coast Symposium March 12-13 in Philadelphia, according to a Feb. 28 announcement on ASWM's blog. Panelists and presenters of papers and seminars at the symposium listed in the Symposium program include Miranda Shaw, Patricia Monaghan, Sid Reger, Lydia Ruyle, Sheila Shiki y Michaels, Rav Kohenets Jill Hammer and Holly Shere, H.E. Chief Aina Olomo, and others.
